Early Morning

Got an early morning start thanks to Hank Warner for dropping us off at the airport. Traffic was smooth  and the first flight is underway. I am listening to Francis Chan’s book Forgotten God. I listened to it the first time back in March and it is a great reminder of the person and work of the Holy Spirit. It continues to amaze me how often we neglect the work of the Spirit. I do think the Spirit speaks through the word of God, but the spirit leads and guides us as we read. In our neglect of the spirit we give rise to intelectual pious arrogancy. Even typing those words I think of my own arrogance in dismissing others without taking into account the work of the Spirit in their lives.

May the Spirit be present in my life during this trip and beyond.

Thanks for praying.

As you may know we are one shy of our compelete group as we head towards asia. As we boarded a plane, he boarded a train to downtown Chicago to get a new passport. We trust God will provide and we will see him in a couple of days.

Passport was granted now he is waiting on flights. Praise the Lord.

Saturday Before

Spent the day with my two wonderful girls and their mom. We raining lightly this morning so we skipped the soccer game of Hannah’s and hung out at home for a few hours just me and my girls while Raeni worked. Then down to Bayshore so the girls could spend some money they had accumulated and over to Costco for coffee, snacks and the like. Spent the evening with some friends and then folded laundry so I can pack tomorrow.
Been thinking about all the loose ends to tie up before I leave. Really looking forward to the things that God has in store. 30 hours till we start our travels. Keep me and the guys and my family in your prayers.
Thanks!

Asia the pre trip

Back from the Iron range finishing up a few thing here before we head out early on Monday morning. Lawn raked, things at the office a bit cleaned up, movie and pizza night with the family. hoping to pack before midnight on Sunday.

Before I get started traveling the world this week. I am going to take a few days to travel the mid-west. As many of you know, because you have been praying, my grandmother has been fighting cancer for nearly ten years. It is a battle she has fought brilliantly and in fact it is a battle she fought years ago, before I remember, and cancer was still the big “C”.

The battle has been long. The battle is coming to an end. Her mind has begun to drift and I want to make it to see her before she doesn’t remember. I know adding a thousand miles of driving before I head to Asia may not seem like the wisest thing but it needs to be done. Add that to your prayers for me if you would.  Thanks.
Here is a map of where I will be. I will update as we travel. Thanks for checking out the travel tales.
